Job summary

Clark Pacific, a leading design-build manufacturer of prefabricated building systems, seeks an Estimator, Design Build in West Sacramento, CA. You will assist Senior Estimators and Preconstruction Managers with project estimates, subcontractor solicitation, and buyout.

You will work with the DB operations team to mitigate risks and maximize margins, coordinating with subcontractors, architects, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
  • Working knowledge of estimating technologies and BIM-related applications.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and review quantity take-offs.
  • Develop conceptual project estimates and budgets.
  • Support lump sum estimating and GMP budgeting activities by soliciting subcontractor participation and evaluating bids.
  • Prepare scopes of work for subcontractor bid packages.
  • Coordinate and provide information, documentation, and direction to subcontractors.
  • Communicate with architects and consultants to clarify project scope, materials, and constructability requirements.
  • Assist in reviewing milestone documents to identify and price value engineering alternatives.
  • Prepare contractual scope-of-work exhibits for subcontract agreements.
  • Support field operations with change order pricing as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and strategic advantages.
  • Represent Clark Pacific professionally at industry events and networking opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal Clark Pacific stakeholders.
  • Stay current on industry estimating technologies, tools, and best practices.

Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Position Summary

The Estimator, Design Build will assist Senior Estimators and
Preconstruction Managers with project estimates, subcontractor
