Clark Pacific is seeking an MEP Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating, design decision support, and subcontractor procurement for vertical projects and MEP packages. You will coordinate teams, analyze bids, and present analyses to stakeholders, ensuring robust scopes of work and risk-aware decisions.

This role requires a strong background in mechanical/electrical systems, exceptional leadership, and the ability to guide project teams from concept through award.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7+ years of preconstruction experience with MEP systems.
• Experience leading a team of engineers or estimators.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and civil plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP preconstruction activities including estimating, design management, and procurement.
• Coordinate preconstruction teams to develop complete MEP scopes of work.
• Analyze bids and provide recommendations based on project risk.

Salary Range: $160,000-$200,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Position Summary

The MEP Preconstruction Manager has the primary responsibility of estimating, design/decision assisting, and trade partner procurement for vertical projects and MEP trade packages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

MEP Preconstruction Leadership

• Lead and manage MEP preconstruction activities, including estimating, design management, and subcontractor/vendor procurement.
• Coordinate teams of preconstruction staff to develop complete scopes of work for MEP systems.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor bid proposals and provide recommendations for award, considering project risks and challenges.
• Prepare comparative analyses of estimates and explain variances to project stakeholders.

Communication and collaboration

• Communicate with equipment vendors, design engineers, clients, subcontractors, and internal project stakeholders.
• Support meetings with owners, architects, and engineers during the preconstruction phase.
• Create, update, and present project deliverables and tools to clients.

Team Development & Industry Engagement

• Train and develop preconstruction staff in both technical and non-technical aspects of MEP systems.
• Lead responses to RFPs and represent Clark Pacific at meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience

• 7+ years of preconstruction experience specific to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or building automation systems/power monitoring systems.
• Experience leading a team of MEP Project Engineers or Estimators.

Technical Knowledge

• Ability to read and understand electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of MEP systems and equipment.
• Working knowledge of estimating technology and tools such as QTO, Estimating, and BIM-related software.
