Roofing Talent America (RTA) in Southern California is seeking an experienced estimator focused on commercial waterproofing. You will own estimates end-to-end, from GC bid invitations through handover, using Bluebeam to takeoffs and following our established estimating process.

Run the Estimating Desk Behind a $20M Waterproofing Division

Waterproofing already runs at roughly $20M a year here. Specialist estimating capacity is the only thing capping it.

Estimators in this business have historically carried sales as well. This seat doesn't. You estimate.

Project-based work through GCs: vertical walls, spall repair, parking decks, injection, expansion joints, slab membrane, below grade.

Bluebeam takeoffs, an established in-house estimating process, and 100% commercial work across public and private sectors.

Promotion comes from inside. People here stay for decades.

Opportunity Overview

The business is a long-established Southern California specialty contractor working exclusively in commercial construction, serving both public and private sector clientsand operating almost entirely as a subcontractor to general contractors.

It runs roofing, waterproofing, sheet metal and service work, with the waterproofing division turning over approximately $20 million annually. Work is concentrated across Los Angeles, Orange County and Riverside, with some activity further north in California.

Waterproofing scopes cover vertical walls, spall repair, parking and plaza decks, epoxy and polyurethane injection, expansion joints, concrete floors, slab membrane and below-grade systems.

Hiring has historically been referral-led, with operations staff developed internally and retained long term. Sales and estimating report into a single leader with around twenty years in the business. It is a union shop, and the public works base is now being extended into private sector commercial.

Your Role

• Own commercial waterproofing estimates end to end, from GC bid invitation through to handover
• Take off from commercial blueprints in Bluebeam and price through the company estimating process
• Price union labor accurately across public works, prevailing wage and private commercial projects
• Estimate the full specialist scope range: vertical walls, spall repair, parking and plaza decks, injection, expansion joints, slab membrane and below grade
• Build direct relationships with GC estimating and project management contacts to drive repeat bid flow
• Support the division's move deeper into private sector commercial work

Key Requirements

• Specialist commercial waterproofing estimating experience, not a roofing estimator who has priced some waterproofing
• Able to read and take off commercial blueprints independently
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam or an equivalent take-off platform
• Comfortable estimating union and prevailing wage work
• Based in, or relocating to, Southern California. This is an office-based role
