Job summary

Rogers-O'Brien Construction in Dallas is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Preconstruction team. You will evaluate bid documents, coordinate subcontractor pricing, and develop precise estimates that drive winning bids.

Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure estimates align with budget and schedule. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of preconstruction experience in commercial construction.
• Experience estimating projects in the $5M–$15M+ range preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in estimating tools: On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, SmartBid.

Responsibilities

• Review bid specs, drawings, and documents to understand scope.
• Perform quantity take-offs and input data into estimating software.
• Solicit, track, and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Monitor subcontractor participation for coverage and pricing.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and interviews as required.
• Prepare bid tabulations and post-bid files.
• Submit RFIs during bidding to clarify requirements.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents on schedules and constructability.
