Job summary

Tiello is seeking an Estimator for commercial masonry projects in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The role focuses on compiling estimates for work up to $25M by reviewing blueprints, specifications, and related documents to determine labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of estimating experience in structural concrete or masonry, with willingness to travel and eligibility to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 3+ years estimating for reputable General Contractors/Subcontractors.
• Commercial Masonry experience.
• Willingness to travel or pass background/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
• Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost.
• Determine costs of labor, material, and equipment; estimate total project cost and duration.
• Prepare conceptual estimates.
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules.
• Submit requisitions for the purchase of materials.
• Compare competitive specialists and materials.

Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000/year DOE

Company Overview:

Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable Commercial Masonry Contractor in the Fort Lauderdale area on their search for an Estimator to focus on work in the Commercial Masonry sector, working in a team to put together estimates ranging in value up to $25M.

Role Summary:

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in structural concrete and / or masonry and will be responsible to compile estimates for the cost of work by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Included in this will be the estimation of labor, material, equipment, and time requirements in order to compute the overall cost and duration of the project.

Project Type:

New Construction, ground-up masonry projects - Retail, Office Buildings, Hotels, Multifamily, Schools, Arenas, etc. ($10M-$50M)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform all responsibilities of a Project Estimator including but not limited to the following:
• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
• Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost
• Determine costs of labor, material, and equipmentPush the evolution of the construction documents as necessary
• Prepare conceptual estimates
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
• Submit requisitions for the purchase of materials
• Compare competitive specialist and material

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related is preferred.
• 3+ years Estimating projects for reputable General Contractors/Subcontractors
• Commercial Masonry Experience
• Willingness to travel or pass background/drug screen
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
