Job summary

Bancare, Inc. is seeking an Estimator for commercial construction projects based in Milford, Ohio. You’ll own the estimating process from drawings review through final bid, and collaborate with the preconstruction team to deliver accurate, competitive numbers.

Responsibilities include take-offs, pricing labor/materials/equipment, subcontractor bids, risk spotting, and handoffs to Project Management. Mentorship of junior estimators is encouraged as you grow.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience including ground-up estimating/preconstruction
• Ability to read construction drawings and specs
• Interest in mentoring junior estimators

Responsibilities

• Build accurate estimates for commercial construction projects from drawings through final bid
• Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs
• Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
• Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations
• Deliver clean, complete bid packages to Project Management
• Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role

Bancare has been building (literally) since 1972 — today we run two divisions covering commercial construction and bank equipment/security. We're growing our estimating team and looking for someone who wants real ownership over the numbers behind ground-up and tenant improvement projects, not just data entry into a template.

What you'll do

• Build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects — from drawing review through final bid
• Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs
• Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
• Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems
• Sit in on pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as part of the preconstruction team
• Hand off clean, complete bid packages to Project Management
• Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role

What you need

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience, including ground-up estimating, preconstruction, or related project work
• Comfortable reading construction drawings and specs

Nice to have (not required)

• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, OpenSpace, or similar
• Exposure to design-build, CM, negotiated, or hard-bid delivery
