Job summary

Bancare, Inc. in Warren, MI is seeking an Estimator for commercial construction to own the numbers behind ground-up and tenant improvements, from drawings review to final bid.

You will build estimates, run take-offs, solicit bids, identify risks, and coordinate with preconstruction and project management.

The role requires 2+ years in commercial construction and the ability to read drawings; a CM/engineering degree and experience with Procore or Bluebeam are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience, incl. ground-up estimating/preconstruction.
• Comfortable reading construction drawings and specs.
• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, OpenSpace or similar tools.
• Exposure to design-build, CM, negotiated, or hard-bid delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build accurate estimates for commercial projects from drawings review to final bid.
• Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs.
• Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations.
• Hand off complete bid packages to Project Management.
• Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role.

Bancare has been building (literally) since 1972 — today we run two divisions covering commercial construction and bank equipment/security. We're growing our estimating team and looking for someone who wants real ownership over the numbers behind ground-up and tenant improvement projects, not just data entry into a template.

What you'll do

• Build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects — from drawing review through final bid
• Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs
• Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
• Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems
• Sit in on pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as part of the preconstruction team
• Hand off clean, complete bid packages to Project Management
• Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role

What you need

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience, including ground-up estimating, preconstruction, or related project work
