Job summary

Bancare, Inc is seeking an Estimator for Commercial Construction in Arlington Heights to own cost estimates from drawings to final bid. You will conduct quantity take-offs, price labor and materials, and evaluate subcontractor bids as part of a proactive preconstruction team.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, with reading drawings and specs. Bachelor's in construction-related field and experience with Procore/Bluebeam/OpenSpace are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Comfortable reading construction drawings and specs
• Experience with preconstruction or ground-up estimating is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects—from drawing review through final bid
• Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs
• Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
• Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems
• Sit in on pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as part of the preconstruction team
• Hand off clean, complete bid packages to Project Management
• Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role

Estimator — Commercial Construction Arlington Heights 80,000-100,000 (based on experience) | Full-time

Bancare has been building (literally) since 1972 — today we run two divisions covering commercial construction and bank equipment/security. We're growing our estimating team and looking for someone who wants real ownership over the numbers behind ground-up and tenant improvement projects, not just data entry into a template.

What you'll do

• Build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects — from drawing review through final bid
• Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs
• Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
• Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems
• Sit in on pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as part of the preconstruction team
• Hand off clean, complete bid packages to Project Management
• Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role

What you need

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience, including ground-up estimating, preconstruction, or related project work
• Comfortable reading construction drawings and specs

Nice to have (not required)

• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, OpenSpace, or similar
• Exposure to design-build, CM, negotiated, or hard-bid delivery
