Job summary

Bancare is seeking an Estimator for commercial construction in Warren, MI to develop reliable estimates for ground-up and tenant-improvement projects, from drawings review to final bid. You will mentor junior staff and ensure accurate bid packages.

The role requires 2+ years in commercial construction, strong Excel skills, and the ability to read drawings and specs. Procore/Bluebeam/OpenSpace experience is a plus; join a team that values accuracy and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience including ground-up estimating, preconstruction, or related project work.
• Comfortable reading construction drawings and specs.
• Solid Excel/Microsoft Office skills.
• Nice-to-have: Procore, Bluebeam, OpenSpace or similar tools.
• Exposure to design-build, CM, negotiated, or hard-bid delivery (nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects—from drawing review through final bid.
• Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs.
• Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems.
• Sit in on pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as part of the preconstruction team.
• Hand off clean, complete bid packages to Project Management.
• Mentor Junior Estimators as you grow into the role.

Bancare has been building (literally) since 1972 — today we run two divisions covering commercial construction and bank equipment/security. We're growing our estimating team and looking for someone who wants real ownership over the numbers behind ground-up and tenant improvement projects, not just data entry into a template.

What you'll do

• Build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects — from drawing review through final bid


• Run quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subs


• Solicit, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor bids


• Spot scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems


• Sit in on pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as part of the preconstruction team


• Hand off clean, complete bid packages to Project Management
