Job summary

Spence Brothers, a General Contractor and Construction Manager, is seeking an Estimator Assistant / Bid Coordinator to support preconstruction activities in the Mid-MMichigan market from the Saginaw office.

The role coordinates bid logistics, reviews documents, prepares takeoffs, and assists with proposal development. Pathway exists to advance into a full-time Estimator role as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in construction administration or estimating support.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specs and contracts.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; detail oriented and able to work under deadlines.
• Proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam software; familiarity with project takeoffs and cost summaries.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents to define scope and determine if general contracting or trade work is needed.
• Submit RFIs and manage information requests to keep bids complete.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and maintain bid logs.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and populate master estimation spreadsheets.
• Assemble final bid packages for review by estimating team.
