Job summary

Arconic is seeking an Estimator to join Kawneer Business in Visalia, CA. The role focuses on reviewing and entering customer pricing requests, maintaining communication with customers, and supporting order pursuit and project negotiations.

Required are 2–5 years in construction estimating with a HS diploma or GED. Preferred are further education and cost estimating experience, plus familiarity with JD Edwards or KaluCAD. This is a full‑time position in the Kawneer team.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• 2–5 years of experience in the Construction Industry (estimating, drafting, project management, etc.).
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Estimator

Arconic is currently searching for an Estimator to join the Kawneer Business in Visalia, CA for the US division of Building & Construction Systems (BCS). The Estimator ensures that incoming customer requests for pricing are accurately reviewed and entered into the system, maintaining communication with customers, overseeing order pursuit activities, and project negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material proposals and material take-offs for Kawneer products from customer supplied lists, customer elevations and architectural plans/specifications.
• Interact and work with customers and sales representatives on quote follow-up, order changes, product related issues and customer claims.
• Provide required levels of service to customers where Kawneer is the preferred supplier.
• Coordinate and collaborate with employees and other internal resources on complex projects.
• Develop knowledge of and regularly use Kawneer product portfolio and price book.
• Use JD Edwards / KaluCAD applications to calculate price concessions based on established guidelines.
• Be a point‑of‑contact on phone inquiries with expectation of 100% “live call” response and customer assistance without frequently forwarding calls to other front‑end employees.
• Will be expected to learn to schedule orders based on standard lead times or Production Control.
• Other duties as required for business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
• 2–5 years of experience in the Construction Industry (estimating, drafting, project management, etc.)
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree from an accredited institution.
• 5–10 years of work experience in the construction / architectural industry.
• 5–10 years of cost estimating experience.
• Previous experience providing cost estimates for Curtain Wall / Window Wall products.
• Experience using JD Edwards and / or KaluCAD.
• Ability to visualize design concepts from Architectural Plans.
• Experience negotiating.
• Ability to calculate engineering loads on single and double window spans.

Salary

The base salary range for this role is $45K-60K. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
