Job summary

Renewyx LLC is seeking a Project Estimator for the St. Louis metro area to bid heavy civil and transportation work across Illinois and Missouri.

You will evaluate opportunities, analyze plans, and develop detailed estimates using HCSS HeavyBid, with a focus on earthwork, utilities, paving and structures. You will coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, prepare bid summaries, and support transitions to operations after award.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of heavy civil or transportation estimating experience.
• Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob.
• Strong ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications and contract documents.
• Electronic plan takeoff tools.
• A strong subcontractor and supplier network.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate bid opportunities and analyze plans, specs, and addenda.
• Build estimates in HCSS HeavyBid backed by realistic work plans and production rates.
• Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier quotes and prepare bid summaries.
• Support handoff to operations after award and assist with change orders and value engineering.

Job description

Heavy Civil Estimator | St louis, MO | Up to $200k

Renewyx have partnered with a family-owned heavy civil and transportation contractor in the St. Louis metro to appoint a Project Estimator.

This is a new role created through growth. The business bids state DOT and public agency work across Illinois and Missouri, from $500K to $50M, and the Estimator will report to the VP of Pre-Construction.

You'll evaluate bid opportunities, analyze plans, specifications and addenda, and carry out detailed quantity takeoffs across earthwork, utilities, paving and structures. You'll build estimates in HCSS HeavyBid backed by realistic work plans and production rates, solicit and level subcontractor and supplier quotes, and prepare bid summaries and clarifications for leadership. After award, you'll support the handoff to operations and help with change orders and value engineering.

• At least 3 years of heavy civil or transportation estimating experience

• Strong ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications and contract documents

• $170,000 to $200,000 base plus discretionary bonus
