Blueprint Search Group is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to lead the preconstruction process for civil and environmental restoration projects. The role emphasizes independent development of accurate, competitive estimates using HCSS HeavyBid from plan review through final bid submission.

This is not an entry-level position. You will identify risks, translate estimates into successful field execution, and meet tight bid deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and attention to

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years estimating experience in civil construction or site development.
• Extensive experience using HCSS HeavyBid.
• Proven ability to independently prepare complete estimates from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, excavation and site development.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Primavera experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates from initial review through final bid submission.
• Review plans, specs and bid docs to determine scope.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Estimate grading, excavation, utilities, site development, erosion control and environmental restoration work.
• Solicit subcontractor pricing, define scopes, and level bids.
• Identify scope gaps and project risks before bid submission.
• Develop estimate assumptions, clarifications and exclusions.
• Maintain pricing databases and estimate documentation.
• Coordinate with project management to ensure smooth transitioning to construction.
• Meet aggressive bid deadlines with accuracy.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to lead the preconstruction process for civil construction and environmental restoration projects. This is an opportunity for a seasoned professional who can independently develop accurate, competitive estimates using HCSS HeavyBid from initial plan review through final bid submission.

This is not an entry-level or training position. We're looking for a proven estimator who understands civil/site development construction, identifies project risks before they become problems, and delivers estimates that translate successfully into field execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned estimates from initial review through final bid submission.
• Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine complete project scope.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate cost estimates.
• Estimate grading, excavation, underground utilities, site development, erosion control, and environmental restoration work.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing, define scopes of work, and level bids.
• Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and project risks before bid submission.
• Develop estimate assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions.
• Maintain organized pricing databases and estimate documentation.
• Coordinate with project management and operations to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction.
• Meet aggressive bid deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of estimating experience in civil construction or site development.
• Extensive experience using HCSS HeavyBid.
• Proven ability to independently prepare complete estimates from start to finish.

Strong knowledge of:

• Earthwork and grading
• Excavation
• Experience with stream restoration or wetland mitigation is preferred.
• Strong understanding of field operations and construction means and methods.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Primavera experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• $120,000-$150,000 annual salary (based on experience)
