Job summary

GH Engage is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Preconstruction team in NYC. You will conceptually and detail-estimate civil, architectural and structural scopes for ground-up affordable and multifamily projects valued from $10M to $100M+, collaborating closely with the Estimating Manager and team to move opportunities from concept to award.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years of estimating experience with a General Contractor background, proficiency in Takeoff/estimating software,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years' estimating experience.
• General Contractor background required.
• Experience estimating ground-up affordable and/or multifamily housing projects in NYC metro.
• Proficiency with estimating programs such as On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or Bluebeam, and SAGE 300 Estimating.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform both conceptual and detailed estimating on civil, architectural and structural portions of projects ranging from $10M to $100M+
• Work with the Estimating Manager to prepare conceptual estimates
• Produce quantitative surveys and accurate pricing to support a Lump Sum Price
• Coordinate project documents across all delivery methods
• Lead detailed reviews of civil, architectural and structural subcontractor scope prior to contract award
• Obtain and present unit pricing data
• Outline clarifications and qualifications within an estimate
• Provide backup documentation for estimates used during analysis and review

Job description

We are partnering with an established Queens-based General Contracting and Real Estate Development firm with a long track record delivering ground-up affordable, mixed-income and multifamily housing developments across the five boroughs and greater metro area.

They are currently seeking a full-time Estimator to join their Preconstruction team, responsible for conceptualizing and interpreting scope of work from both schematic and complete detailed documents, and supporting the successful delivery of design-phase services.

Location: NYC (travel within NYC required) Project Size: $10M–$100M+ Project Type: Affordable Housing / Mixed-Income / Multifamily Scale: Ground-up new construction

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented Estimator from a General Contractor background who is comfortable working across civil, architectural and structural scopes on ground-up housing projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Estimating Manager and wider Preconstruction team to produce accurate, well-supported estimates that carry projects from conceptual pricing through to award.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform both conceptual and detailed estimating on civil, architectural and structural portions of projects ranging from $10M to $100M+

• Experience estimating ground-up affordable and/or multifamily housing projects in the NYC metro market preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent required
• Proficiency with estimating programs such as On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or Bluebeam, and SAGE 300 Estimating
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
