Job summary

LSI Industries in Alpharetta, GA is seeking an Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for custom millwork and metal products, reviewing drawings and customer requirements. You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations from concept through production handoff.

The role emphasizes accurate pricing, developing BOMs and routing with Engineering, coordinating outsourced components, and supporting pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of wood, stainless steel, and carbon steel fabrication processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP or estimating software.
• Good organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for custom millwork and fabricated metal products.
• Review drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Estimate labor, materials, and outside services across multiple facilities.
• Develop BOMs and routing assumptions in collaboration with Engineering.
• Coordinate pricing for outsourced components (stone, glass, lighting, acrylics, etc.).
• Support Sales with pricing strategies and value-engineering options.
• Maintain estimating databases, tools, and historical cost data.
• Analyze historical data to improve estimating accuracy and margin performance.
• Participate in project handoffs to ensure smooth transition to Operations.

Position Overview:

The Estimator prepares accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for highly customized products across multiple materials and manufacturing facilities. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to support quoting from concept through production handoff.
