Lead Estimator – Preconstruction and Estimating

iSuite L.L.C. is seeking a highly experienced Lead Estimator to join our Preconstruction and Estimating team in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of mechanical estimating experience within the A/E/C industry.

Responsibilities

• Analyze projects before they begin and estimate costs for labor, materials, equipment, and other relevant areas based on drawings and specifications.
• Review and interpret technical and administrative documents such as Change Orders, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
• Compile complete estimates while working with piping, plumbing and sheetmetal estimator teams to ensure accurate bids.
• Prepare material takeoffs to define quantities required for each system.
• Determine work crews and production rates required for tasks.
• Break down the scope of work into definable tasks.
• Assist in the development of bids, scope documents, and proposals.
• Develop pricing changes for existing projects.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Utilize computerized takeoff programs such as Autodesk ESTmep or QuoteSoft and perform manual or on-screen takeoffs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of the Nashville construction market and relationships with general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Proficiency with computerized takeoff programs (AutoDesk ESTmep or QuoteSoft) and manual entry methods.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical and HVAC systems, building products, construction details, design, and relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to create thorough and accurate estimates and scope of work or proposal documents.
• Skill in filling gaps in bidding documents to produce complete estimates.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Competence in using word processors and moderate proficiency with spreadsheets such as Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of construction accounting and experience reading construction drawings and specifications.
• Self‑motivated with strong time‑management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines while multitasking amid changing priorities.
