Job summary

ESCO Construction Company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Evergreen, CO team. The ideal candidate will have heavy civil estimating expertise, be detail-oriented, and able to manage bids from sourcing through submission.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in heavy civil estimating is required.
  • Engineering or CM degree a plus but not required.
  • Experience with estimating projects above $5 million dollars is required.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid or similar estimating software is required
  • Experience with takeoff software such as Agtek, Carlson or Trimble is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite is required.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 is a plus.
  • Experience with Spectrum Accounting software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • General knowledge of project search databases.
  • Communicate with partners and team members regarding new and current projects.
  • Attend pre bid meetings and bid openings as required.
  • Read civil construction plans and specifications.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using Agtek suite.
  • Solicit subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate their proposals.
  • Prepare civil self-perform estimates in detail utilizing HCSS Heavy Bid software.
  • Manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors. Review all quotes for completeness, responsiveness, and identify scope gaps between vendors and subcontractors
  • Assist in preparation of technical proposals.
  • Prepare cost analysis of past projects and compare to current estimates.
  • Must be able to work as a team and communicate well internally and externally.
  • Ability to critically think and problem solve as a team member and an individual.
  • Follow and track ESCO's estimating and preconstruction process. Manage estimating forms to facilitate bid and leadership reviews of every estimate.
