Job summary

ESCO Construction Company in Evergreen, CO is seeking an Entry-Level Estimator to join our civil construction team. Ideal candidate has experience in heavy civil estimating, is organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include reading civil plans, performing quantity takeoffs with Agtek, soliciting subs, preparing detailed estimates with HCSS Heavy Bid, and coordinating with partners.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years' experience in heavy civil estimating required.
• Experience with estimating projects above $5 million.
• Experience reviewing bid documents and creating takeoffs for civil construction projects.
• Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid or similar estimating software is required.
• Experience with takeoff software such as Agtek, Carlson or Trimble is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Site Experience through internships, field engineering, or other active jobsite experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read civil construction plans and specifications; perform accurate quantity takeoffs using Agtek/Carlson/Trimble.
• Communicate with partners and team members regarding new and current projects.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and bid openings as required.
• Prepare civil self-perform estimates in detail utilizing HCSS Heavy Bid software.
• Manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist in preparation of technical proposals and cost analyses.
• Must be able to work as a team and communicate well internally and externally.

• General knowledge of project search databases.
• Communicate with partners and team members regarding new and current projects.
• Attend pre bid meetings and bid openings as required.
• Ability to read civil construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs in a timely manner utilizing Agtek suite.
• Solicit subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate their proposals.
• Prepare civil self-perform estimates in detail utilizing HCSS Heavy Bid software.
• Manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist in preparation of technical proposals.
• Prepare cost analysis of past projects and compare to current estimates.
• Must be able to work as a team and communicate well internally and externally.
• Ability to critically think and problem solve as a team member and an individual.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years' experience in heavy civil estimating is required.
• Engineering or CM degree a plus but not required. Relative experience is acceptable.
• Experience with estimating projects above $5 million dollars is required.
• Experience with reviewing bid documents and creating comprehensive takeoffs for civil construction projects.
• Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid or similar estimating software is required.
• Experience with takeoff software such as Agtek, Carlson or Trimble is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite is required.
• Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is a plus.
• Site Experience through internships, field engineering, or other active jobsite experience is a plus.
