Job summary

ESCO Construction Company in Evergreen, CO is seeking an experienced Project Manager for our heavy civil portfolio. The role focuses on budgets, schedules, subcontractor management, and field coordination to deliver complex projects on time.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy civil construction, an engineering or construction management degree, and strong communication skills. We offer competitive salary, ESOP, 401(k), health benefits, and generous PTO.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years progressive responsibility on heavy civil construction projects.
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or similar discipline.
  • Strong understanding of field operations with aptitude for building complex projects and effectively managing crews.
  • Ability to access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets including labor, equipment, subcontractors and materials.
  • Understand heavy construction means and methods.
  • Use Microsoft Office for planning and reporting.
  • HSCS HeavyBid/Agtek/MS Project familiarity is a plus.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and obtain quotations from subs/materials.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and subcontracts.
  • Handle monthly progress billing and field changes.
  • Coordinate A/R and A/P related tasks.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • This role is office-based, not field-based.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:
  • Experienced in managing budgets, including internal labor and equipment costs, subcontractors, and materials.
  • A clear understanding of heavy construction means and methods.
  • Basic computer skills with the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek earthwork takeoff software, and Microsoft Project are a plus.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor and material quotations.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules.
  • Issue and administer subcontracts.
  • Monthly progress billing.
  • Identifying and addressing field changes.
  • Work with A/R and A/P on accounts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • This position requires time in the office, not the field
