Job summary

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 5+ years as estimator and/or project manager on commercial, mixed-use, industrial, or multifamily projects.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, Excel, Procore and review of construction documents is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project documentation (blueprints, specs, plans) to assess scope and costs.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data and verify conditions.
  • Obtain and evaluate multiple supplier/subcontractor quotes for competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, PMs, and vendors to support accurate estimates.
  • Perform risk assessments and identify deviations from the plan.
  • Draft proposals detailing costs, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Monitor market trends and assist value engineering to optimize costs.
  • Build and update preconstruction schedules for varied projects.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with experience in commercial and multifamily construction projects. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate cost estimates, provide critical input in project planning and design development and spearhead solicitations, bid reviews, and interact with owners on projects ranging in size from $1-2MM to $90MM+.

This position requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

  • Analyze project documentation, including blueprints, specifications, and property plans, to assess scope and costs.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors costs.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate project conditions and gather relevant information.
  • Obtain and evaluate multiple quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and vendors to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential challenges and deviations from the project plan.
  • Draft comprehensive proposals detailing costs, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor market trends to provide competitive estimates while adhering to financial constraints.
  • Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Build and update a preconstruction schedule for projects ranging from commercial tenant finishes to mixed use high-rise projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an estimator and/or project manager working on commercial, mixed-use, industrial or multifamily projects.
  • Proficiency in industry software such as Bluebeam Revu, Excel, Procore, and able to review construction documents proficiently and make recommendations on constructability.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and labor requirements specific to multifamily developments.
  • Exceptional quantitative skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities for client and vendor interactions.
  • Certification as a Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent is a plus.
