Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints, specs, and project docs to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Perform material take-offs and size labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Prepare clear bid proposals with cost breakdowns and timelines.
  • Collaborate with project teams during pre-construction.
  • Identify risks and constructability issues early and assess cost impacts.
  • Track costs and compare actuals to estimates; adjust projections.
  • Review contracts and change orders for scope and pricing alignment.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities without sacrificing quality.
  • Coordinate with procurement to secure competitive pricing.
  • Support bid reviews with internal teams and clients.
  • Maintain historical cost data to improve future estimates.

Job description

Seeking a Estimator to support construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role is ideal for someone with estimating experience and a understanding of how buildings are put together. The Estimator will play a key role in developing accurate bids, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting successful project execution.


What You'll Do


  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates

  • Perform detailed material take-offs and quantify labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs

  • Prepare clear and competitive bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and project timelines

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and construction teams during pre-construction

  • Identify potential risks, constructability issues, and cost impacts early in the bidding process

  • Track project costs and compare actuals to estimates, adjusting projections as needed

  • Review contracts and change orders to ensure alignment with scope and pricing

  • Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality

  • Work with procurement and vendors to secure competitive material and subcontractor pricing

  • Support pre-construction meetings and bid reviews with internal teams and clients

  • Assist sales and business development efforts by providing timely, accurate estimates

  • Maintain historical cost data to improve future estimates

  • Stay current on material pricing, labor rates, building codes, and industry trends


What We're Looking For


  • Previous experience as an Estimator or in a related estimating role

  • Construction industry knowledge with a understanding of building methods and materials

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents

  • Experience using estimating software and standard office tools

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines effectively

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills


Nice to Have


  • Hands‑on field experience in construction

  • Residential, light commercial, or multi‑family construction exposure

  • Experience participating in pre‑construction planning or value engineering
