Job summary

Arch Street Glass, a Boston-based glazing subcontractor, seeks an estimator to join the estimating team. You will read drawings, perform detailed takeoffs, gather quotes, and prepare bid proposals for multiple projects while coordinating with architects, designers, and general contractors.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and have strong math, MS Office, and communication skills. Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, and D365 CRM familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

Job description

Arch Street Glass, a division of CBX Solutions, is a Boston‑based interior glass & glazing subcontractor. We serve a wide range of customers throughout the Northeast and have grown into one of New England’s premiere glaziers. Our work stretches across multiple facets of commercial construction, such as health care, higher education, corporate office, multi‑family & residential, hospitality and more. Arch Street Glass is currently seeking a motivated & detail‑oriented individual to join our Estimating Team. While the role will primarily involve estimating, the desired individual will be wearing many hats and taking on a variety of responsibilities over time.

Essential Functions

• Read and interpret construction drawings, hardware sets and specifications to determine project scope.
• Complete detailed independent takeoffs and gather relevant product quotes.
• Evaluate pricing and prepare detailed estimates and bid proposals for multiple concurrent projects.
• Communicate with architects, designers, and general contractors to solve problems / find creative and practical solutions alongside sales team.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and general contractors.
• Compile and organize project‑related documents, drawings, and quotes.
• Collaborate within the estimating team to coordinate meetings and tasks with your peers.
• Upload all submitted bid data to Procore & internal CRM
• Review bid documents, conduct takeoffs, solicit subcontractor pricing, and develop preliminary budgets.
• Calculate quantities, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, overhead, contingency, and profit.
• Compile final pricing, verify scope coverage, prepare proposals, and submit bids by established deadlines.
• Assist with negotiations, estimate revisions, scope clarification, and handoff of awarded projects to the project management team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Accurate mathematical skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Blueprint/plan reading and specification interpretation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented, deadline conscience, goal driven, and able to handle all types of scopes of projects
• Familiarity with Microsoft D365 CRM, Microsoft Excel, Procore, and Bluebeam.
