Job summary

Nassal, part of the PCL family, is seeking an Estimating Student in Orlando, FL to support quantity survey work from May to August. This full-time, on-site role offers hands-on experience with the estimating team and exposure to BEST Estimating software.

You will review drawings, perform take-offs, assist with bid day tasks and subcontractor coordination, using Excel, Word, Revit and Acrobat. Pursuing an appropriate degree and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Desire a career in construction, Project Management, Field Supervision, or Estimating.
• Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Any experience using: On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Excel and Word, Revit, Acrobat, and other computer software.
• Required to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, and owners.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, and perform quantity take-offs.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Available to work in Orlando, FL, full-time from May to August.
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.

Responsibilities

• Review and perform quantity survey assignments with lead estimator
• Bid document control
• Performs bid day assignments
• Sub-trade bid reviews and recapping
• Visits job sites periodically
• Use of in-house estimating software (BEST Estimating)
• Develops relationships with subcontractors
• Other duties as assigned
