Job summary

Upgrade Resources is seeking an Estimating Manager for commercial construction in Dallas, TX. Hybrid work arrangement: 1 day per week from home. Full-time role with a competitive salary based on experience.

The candidate will prepare complex cost estimates for bids and negotiated proposals, coordinate with operations and trade partners, and mentor junior staff. A strong background in MS Excel and construction estimating software is required, with a path to advancement to Estimating Manager 2.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Established, positive trade partner relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, construction estimating software, and reading drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, trades, and self-perform labor productivity.
• Ability to conduct effective presentations and communicate clearly.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
• Willingness to travel overnight and work non-traditional hours.
• 5+ years total construction experience and experience estimating $50M+ projects; Lean or Revit a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals.
• Lead vendor and subcontractor bid solicitation, plan and specification distribution, pricing, and coordination.
• Prepare material and cost summaries from vendor quotes and coordinate bid day summaries and general requirements estimates.
• Collaborate with operations and field staff during preconstruction to find economical build methods.
• Provide training and mentorship to others and build strong relationships with teams and clients.
• Improve project profitability by understanding insurance structures, fees, and rates.
