Job summary

Conductor Power is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead the preparation and review of cost estimates for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, substations, and BESS. You will manage the bid process, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure proposals are complete, compliant, and competitive.

The role requires 7+ years of construction estimating experience in renewable energy or related fields, a Bachelor’s degree in CM/Engineering, and strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in renewable energy, electrical construction, or heavy civil infrastructure.
• Experience leading complex bid efforts and preparing estimates for utility-scale solar, BESS, substation, or similar energy infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed and to mentor the estimating team into efficient processes.

• Evaluate project risks, opportunities, constructability, and pricing strategies while collaborating with engineering, procurement, operations, and project management teams.

Requirements

The Estimating Manager is responsible for leading estimating efforts and overseeing the preparation of accurate, competitive project estimates for utility‑scale renewable energy construction projects, including Solar, Substations, and BESS. The role manages the estimating team and serves as the Bid Captain for key opportunities, coordinating the bid process from initial request through proposal submission.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Estimating Manager oversees the team, including Estimator I, Estimator II, and Senior Estimator roles, providing guidance, review, and mentorship to ensure estimates meet company standards for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• Proven experience leading complex bid efforts and preparing estimates for utility‑scale solar, BESS, substation, or similar energy infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, labor productivity, project cost drivers, and a willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement by mentoring the estimating team, refining estimating processes and tools, maintaining cost databases, and incorporating lessons learned into future bids.
