Job summary

Conductor Power is seeking a Field Engineer to plan, implement, and maintain renewable energy projects. This role blends technical engineering, project management, and hands-on fieldwork to ensure safe, efficient performance across sites.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to meet specifications, schedules, and quality standards while supporting ongoing maintenance and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Blend of technical expertise, project management, and fieldwork.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical documents.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support renewable energy construction projects with site evaluations and quality control.
  • Oversee system installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Partner with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including logs and punch lists.
  • Promote a safe, productive work environment by adhering to company policies.

Requirements

The Field Engineer will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of renewable energy projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and hands‑on fieldwork.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate and support renewable energy construction projects by conducting site evaluations, field inspections, surveying, and quality control to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Oversee system installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to maximize system performance, reliability, and long-term operation.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including production logs, progress reports, punch lists, operations and maintenance files, and other project records.
  • Promote a safe, productive work environment by ensuring compliance with company policies, supporting subcontractor oversight, and performing additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field; or an Associate's degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline with 5+ years of renewable energy experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, safety regulations, and perform basic mathematical calculations related to construction and engineering.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to maintain professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 100%, including working in field environments with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and navigating active construction sites.
