Job summary

UES, a national leader in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and materials testing, offers an estimating internship in Irving, TX. You will learn how costs are developed from plans, how proposals are built, and how estimates drive work awards, while shadowing sales and business development teams.

You’ll complete a capstone project and gain exposure to cross-department collaboration, client relations, and market strategies within the A/E/C industry.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
• Completion of at least two years of coursework preferred.
• Strong academic foundation in engineering principles, with interest in applied fieldwork and testing.

Responsibilities

• Review client construction plans and translate them into cost estimates for construction materials testing and inspection services.
• Assist with preparing proposals and supporting RFPs and vendor applications.
• Shadow meetings with current and prospective customers to gain client exposure.
• Participate in marketing functions and observe how networking supports business growth.
• Collaborate with Branch Management, Scheduling, Operations, and Production to understand how estimating supports the project lifecycle.
