Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a skilled estates technician to maintain building services, plant and equipment to a high standard across NHS facilities. The role involves diagnosing faults, planning day-to-day workload, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

You will carry out planned preventive maintenance, support statutory compliance, and participate in in-house training such as Archibus, Learnpro and Toolbox Talks.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in an estates service environment.
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of current statutory legislative requirements.
• Experience of inspecting and planning working in relation to PPM and Reactives.
• Willingness to undertake in-house training relevant to position such as Archibus, Learnpro and Toolbox Talks.
• Driving licence is required; full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a range of buildings services, plant and equipment to a high standard.
• Plan day-to-day workload and material management; complete records and sign off.
• Operate and maintain safe and efficient systems of work for building services.
• Diagnose, report and repair defects in engineering, electrical and building services to ensure statutory compliances are adhered to.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and documentation.

Education

Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Bias

HNC or equivalent

SVQ level or equivalent
