Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a skilled Estates Technician to maintain building services, plant and equipment across NHS sites. You will diagnose and repair faults, ensure compliance, and plan daily workload with proper documentation.

The role requires apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical bias, an HNC or equivalent, and a driving licence. A proactive approach and familiarity with Archibus/Learnpro toolbox talks are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Bias plus an HNC or equivalent.
• Experience of working in an estates service environment.
• Knowledge of current statutory legislative requirements.
• Experience inspecting and planning work related to PPM and Reactives.
• In-house training such as Archibus, Learnpro and Toolbox Talks.
• Driving licence - full UK/EU/EEA.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for safe and efficient building services operations.
• Diagnose, report and repair defects in engineering, electrical and building services.
• Ensure statutory compliance for water management, low voltage, and HVAC systems.
• Understand NHS building services and engineering systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and required corrective maintenance with proper documentation.
