Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an IT Network professional to assist the Infrastructure Operations Manager (Networks) in ensuring a highly available network that supports patient care across NHSL. The post holder will implement, maintain, support, develop and, in some cases, design communication networks throughout the NHSL estate.

You will prepare, implement, maintain and enforce network policies; understand DHCP, QoS, security, IP routing, VLANs; design and maintain enterprise wireless networks;

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in IT or related field
• Extensive experience in a network support role
• Experience with multi-vendor networks and Cisco technology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence

Responsibilities

• Assist the Infrastructure Operations Manager (Networks) to ensure highly available network infrastructure
• Implement, maintain, support, develop and sometimes design NHSL data communications networks
• Prepare, implement, maintain and enforce network policies and procedures
• Maintain understanding of DHCP, QoS, Security, IP Routing, VLANs and LAN/WLAN planning
