Job description

Evergreen Elder Law, LLC is seeking an organized, detail-oriented professional to join our growing legal team as a full-time Paralegal. This position supports our estate planning, probate, and long-term care planning practices, with a key focus on Medicaid applications and asset protection planning for our senior clients.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary $48,000 - $60,000+ DOE plus full benefits

This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you must be able to work in the office for 40 hours per week. Compensation depends on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing estate planning documents such as wills, living wills, powers of attorney, deeds, and trusts
  • Preparing probate and long-term care documents
  • Assisting attorneys in long-term care and probate cases
  • Communicating with clients and potential clients to answer questions and provide reassurance
  • Researching legal issues
  • Working closely with clients with a positive and empathetic attitude
  • Tracking income and asset spreadsheets, and monthly statements
  • Preparing correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and potential clients
  • Managing client information and organizing client files
  • Fostering a teamwork mentality

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Elder Docs is a plus
  • Knowledge of Clio is a plus
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Strong attention to detail in documents
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Professional and empathetic demeanor
  • At least 3+ years of prior experience as a paralegal, specifically in estate planning and probate
  • Paralegal certificate or degree
  • Ability to multitask with a positive attitude
  • Excellent client communication skills
