Candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a legal assistant in a workers' compensation defense firm, be able to communicate effectively, be a self-starter, and comfortable working an active caseload from inception to resolution. Familiarity with Merus Case is a plus.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide assistance to the firm's attorneys, ensuring they are able to carry out their duties. You will communicate with clients, manage files, and work closely with the assigned attorney. The ideal candidate is hardworking and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients and outside vendors, representatives and opposing counsel.
  • Prepare case-specific documents, including EAMS filing and PQME compliance.
  • Ensure that case-related documents are well organized.
  • Maintain and update case documentation.
  • Coordinate case defense with handling attorney.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a defense Legal Assistant is required.
  • Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and EAMS/Filenet.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with document management experience, Merus Case familiarity is a plus.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
