Job summary

Snell & Wilmer in Phoenix is seeking an Estate Planning Paralegal to support estate and trust matters for high-net-worth clients within the Private Client Services Practice Group.

The ideal candidate will have a paralegal certificate and a BA, at least two years of estate planning experience, and strong organizational and communication skills.

You will manage documents, coordinate with clients and financial institutions, and help ensure accurate, timely completion of filings.

Qualifications

  • ABA-accredited paralegal training or equivalent
  • 2+ years paralegal experience in estate and trust planning
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-start
  • Independent work with supervision when needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with estate planning, trust administration, probate, and estate matters.
  • Prepare and revise estate planning documents: trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives.
  • Assist with trust funding, asset retitling, wealth-transfer planning, and closely held businesses.
  • Prepare probate and estate administration documents, inventories, accountings, notices.
  • Gather and organize financial, tax, asset, valuation, and client information.
  • Coordinate with clients, trustees, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, advisors, and other professionals.
  • Track assets, distributions, expenses, tax obligations, court requirements, deadlines.
  • Maintain client and matter files; assist with matter opening/closing/billing.

Estate Planning Paralegal Job Details

Snell & Wilmer is seeking a full-time Estate Planning Paralegal to join its Private Client Services Practice Group in Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting estate and trust planning matters involving high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.


Position Responsibilities


  • Assist attorneys with estate planning, trust administration, probate, and estate administration matters.

  • Prepare and revise estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, beneficiary designations, and related documents.

  • Assist with trust funding, asset retitling, wealth-transfer planning, and closely held business entities.

  • Prepare probate and estate administration documents, inventories, accountings, notices, and related filings.

  • Gather and organize financial, tax, asset, valuation, and client information.

  • Assist with estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and fiduciary income tax matters and supporting documentation.

  • Coordinate with clients, trustees, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, advisors, and other professionals.

  • Track assets, distributions, expenses, tax obligations, court requirements, and important deadlines.

  • Maintain client and matter files and assist with matter opening, closing, billing, and document management.

  • Proactively identify missing information, potential issues, and upcoming deadlines.


Experience and Qualifications


  • Baccalaureate degree and paralegal certificate from ABA-accredited paralegal training program or equivalent combination of education and experience, required

  • At least 2 years of paralegal experience in estate and trust planning or equivalent experience

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while delivering consistent, quality work-product to both attorneys and clients

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-start

  • Ability to work independently with appropriate supervision and to seek help when needed

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
