Job summary

Plante Moran Wealth Management seeks an intern who will be treated like entry level staff, with hands-on experience and scope to drive wealth and profitability for key clients. You’ll collaborate with staff at all levels and engage high-net-worth individuals and families.

You’ll gain exposure to estate planning, tax planning, and client advisory work while developing skills across accounting, finance, and consulting in a fast-paced, in-person environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or other business-related curriculum.
• Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
• Interest in wealth transfer planning strategies (estate planning, insurance, estate/gift tax, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Understand estate planning techniques and how they assist clients in tax reduction strategies.
• Assist with constructing personal balance sheets and cash flow projections; review documents and meet with clients.
• Research issues relating to estate, gift, or trust income taxation and prepare tax memorandums.
• Create practice tools, materials, and presentations on estate tax topics.
• Prepare gift tax returns (709), estate tax returns (706), and trust income tax returns (1041).
