Job summary

BASIS Ed in Scottsdale, AZ, seeks an experienced special educator and administrator to serve as Assistant Director of Exceptional Student Services (ESS). This in-person role supports school leaders and staff to implement compliant IDEA and 504 services across BASIS Ed campuses, with audits, training, and ongoing coaching.

The ideal candidate will supervise documentation practices, oversee IEP and 504 processes, and provide professional development to large and small adult learner audiences,

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching special education or related services.
• 2+ years administering special education programs and oversight experience.
• 2+ years documenting policies and procedures.
• Preferred: experience with IDEA grants and sped funding.
• 1+ year teaching or administering an English learner program.
• Preferred: familiarity with regulatory agencies on compliance

Responsibilities

• Designs and facilitates professional development for school staff.
• Train regular education staff on implementing supports in the general education environment.
• Monitor delivery of effective instruction in special education classrooms.
• Oversee compliance for IDEA and Section 504 across BASIS Ed campuses.
• Assist with parent communication and team meetings to ensure compliance.
• Prepare regular ESS reports and manage audits of records.
• System administrator for eIEP-Pro and related tools.
