Job summary

Great Hearts Academies in Peoria, AZ seeks an Academy Exceptional Student Services Lead Coordinator to supervise the ESS team, coordinate IEP meetings, and ensure compliance with state and federal timelines.

You will partner with the headmaster, support teachers and service providers, manage data reviews, and guide ESSCs in the pedagogy of special education. Requires AZ Special Education certification, a bachelor’s degree, and 3+ years as an ESS coordinator.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the special education process, including state and federal timelines and compliance requirements.
• Leadership, coaching, and mentoring skill/experience.
• High level of emotional intelligence.
• Humility and skill with collaboration between multiple teams.
• Conflict resolution and mediation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skill.
• Experience and speed with multiple platforms and computer programs (SIS, IEP writing programs, MS Office Suite, Google).

Responsibilities

• Oversees caseload distribution discussions, including final decision regarding assignment of students to ESSCs' caseloads.
• Coordinates, facilitates, and executes initial and triennial Review of Existing Data and Review of Additional Data meetings.
• Observes the general education teachers' implementation of IEPs on caseload.
• Manages related service provider relationships and reviews invoices for HM approval.
• Leads the ESS team and assists in training ESSCs on related pedagogy and procedures.
