Job summary

RAM Precision Industries is seeking an experienced ESPRIT CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for high-precision components. You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and machinists to translate drawings and CAD models into efficient programs and tooling setups.

The role focuses on 5-axis capable machining, program prove-out, production support, and continuous improvement in cycle times and part quality.

Qualifications

  • Experience programming CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Proficiency with ESPRIT CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using ESPRIT CAM software.
  • Develop machining processes for CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining equipment as applicable.
  • Review engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements to determine appropriate machining methods.
  • Determine machining sequences, toolpaths, cutting tools, workholding methods, feeds, speeds, and other process parameters.
  • Create and maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling lists, program documentation, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Support CNC machinists during machine setup, program prove-out, first-piece production, and troubleshooting.
  • Verify programs through simulation and other available methods before releasing programs to production.
  • Troubleshoot CNC programming, tooling, dimensional, surface-finish, and machining issues.
  • Make necessary program adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality.
  • Optimize existing CNC programs to reduce cycle times, improve tool life, minimize scrap, and increase machine utilization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, tooling strategies, setups, and overall production efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Quality Department to resolve dimensional issues, nonconforming parts, and other manufacturing concerns.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production personnel on new jobs, process changes, and continuous-improvement projects.
  • Maintain proper program revision control and ensure current programs and documentation are available to production.
  • Assist in standardizing programming methods, tooling, and machining practices throughout the facility.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality requirements, and established manufacturing processes.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled ESPRIT CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will develop and optimize CNC programs using ESPRIT CAD/CAM software to control multi-axis machining centers, including 5-axis CNC machines. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production, precision measurement, and efficient tooling setup. Position Summary:

RAM Precision Industries is seeking an experienced ESPRIT CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs used in the production of high-precision manufactured components. The ESPRIT CNC Programmer will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and CNC machinists to develop efficient and reliable machining processes. This position is responsible for translating engineering drawings, CAD models, and customer requirements into accurate CNC programs while improving quality, cycle time, tooling performance, and overall manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machining and is comfortable supporting programs from initial development through setup, prove-out, and production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using ESPRIT CAM software.
  • Develop machining processes for CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining equipment as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience programming CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Proficiency with ESPRIT CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and GD&T.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC tooling, cutting conditions, feeds and speeds, workholding, and machining strategies.
  • Understanding of CNC G-code and machine controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot CNC programs and machining processes.
  • Ability to work with CAD models and other electronic engineering files.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with machinists, engineers, Quality personnel, supervisors, and other departments.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent combination of CNC programming, machining experience, technical education, and training may be considered.
  • 3+ years of CNC programming experience preferred.
  • Previous experience using ESPRIT in a precision machining environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machining is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience programming 3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis CNC equipment.
  • Experience with CNC milling, turning, mill-turn, or other advanced machining processes.
  • Experience working with tight-tolerance precision components.
  • Knowledge of first-article inspection processes.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, cycle-time reduction, and tooling optimization.
  • Experience developing fixtures, workholding strategies, or manufacturing processes.
