Job summary

groninger is seeking a skilled CNC CAD/CAM Programmer based in Charlotte, NC. You will create 3- and 5-axis milling programs using Esprit Edge, read drawings, apply GD&T, and optimize cutting parameters to meet tight tolerances.

You will collaborate with engineering and production teams, interpret metric drawings, and ensure on-time, high-quality parts. This role demands attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of CAD/CAM experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret metric drawings and GD&T.
• Adaptable to changing environments and multi-tasking.
• Strong attention to detail and deadline oriented.

Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs for 3- and 5-axis milling using Esprit Edge.
• Read blueprints and specifications and apply GD&T.
• Develop CAM programs for various milling centers.
• Optimize tooling and cutting parameters per material.
• Collaborate with engineering and management to ensure quality.
• Work with tight tolerances (0.01 mm).

Job Duties

• Creates drawings and CNC programs using Esprit Edge software provided by the company. Programs are for 3 and 5 axis milling machines
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals, and specifications
• Understand and apply GD&T to the programming process
• Create CAM programming to be used on various CNC milling centers
• Report information that affects parts quality or production to engineering and management
• Optimize tooling and cutting parameters based on material and setup
• Ability to work as part of a production team, receiving and giving productive feedback from peers and supervisors that works toward increasing production quality and staff skills
• Determine how automated equipment will cut a part. Determine cutting path
• Use manual and computer-controlled machinery
• Working with close tolerance (0.01 mm)

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• Prior knowledge of Esprit software is a plus
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of CAD/CAM experience programming in a manufacturing environment
