Qualifications

• Master’s degree in TESOL OR Master’s in adult education or related field, or equivalent with two+ years ESOL teaching experience.
• Experience teaching contextualized ESOL classes linked to occupational training or career-technical education.
• Must attend OALPS training within 6 months of hire and participate in ongoing OALPS training.
• Experience with diverse college communities and commitment to access and diversity.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in classroom, lab, learning center or other setting; teaches team-taught ESOL courses.
• Provides opportunities for student contact before/after class via phone or email or office hours.
• Collaborates with faculty and staff to promote communication and align instruction and outcomes.
• Prepares and utilizes contextualized instructional materials; incorporates current classroom technology.
• Structures curriculum to align with program objectives and state standards.
• Supports a learning environment that embraces diversity and inclusive practices.
• Maintains classroom, lab and departmental equipment and security of facilities.
• Convenes classes on time and regularly as scheduled.
• Maintains attendance records and assists with orientations and standardized testing.
• Ensures safe working and classroom conditions.
