Qualifications

• Possess New Jersey ESL teaching certification.
• Be currently employed by Hackensack Public Schools; elementary ESL teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrate a record of excellent performance in previous tutorial teaching assignments and outcomes.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to student growth with data-driven progress.
• Possess knowledge of the WIDA English Language Development Standards and their application.
• Demonstrate expertise in differentiated instruction and intervention in ELD, ELA, and mathematics.
• Meet the linguistic, academic, cognitive, and behavioral needs of diverse learners.
• Be willing to implement prescribed instructional approaches with fidelity and openness to coaching.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and fulfill professional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver rigorous, targeted instruction supporting academic achievement and language development.
• Provide whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction aligned with standards.
• Use ACCESS scores and assessments to identify needs, differentiate and monitor progress.
• Implement evidence-based interventions to accelerate academic and language growth.
• Establish a structured, supportive learning environment with positive behavior and mutual respect.
• Maintain supervision and safety of students during dismissal.
• Maintain lesson plans and progress records using designated templates.
• Communicate with parents regarding progress and concerns.
• Demonstrate reliability with attendance and timely documentation.
