Job summary

JM Test Systems, Inc. is seeking an ESL Technician in our Rubber Lab to inspect, clean, and dielectrically test high-voltage rubber PPE. You will determine pass/fail status, document results, and certify equipment that meets ASTM standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience needed; we will train you.
• Strong organization and attention to detail; ability to read and follow testing procedures.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good communication and a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Ability to stand at a workbench and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose rubber PPE to identify damage and determine service needs.
• Clean PPE by hand or machine according to ASTM standards and manufacturer specs.
• Test and certify high-voltage dielectric testing and pass/fail decisions.
• Document data, stamp dates on passed equipment and complete service records on time.
• Manage workload by reviewing daily assignments and maintaining movement with limited supervision.
• Keep the lab running smoothly: maintain a clean work area, prep staging areas, order supplies, and transport equipment safely.
• Grow and contribute: build skills through training and help train newer technicians as you gain experience.

JobSummary — The Opportunity

People who work around high voltage count on their rubberinsulating protective equipment to keep them safe. As an ESL Technician in ourRubber Lab, you'll help make sure every piece of PPE we return to a customer isclean, tested, and ready to protect the person wearing it.

In this role, you will inspect, clean, and dielectricallytest high-voltage rubber PPE, determine whether each item passes ASTMstandards, and document and certify the results. No prior experience isrequired. You'll train in-house alongside our Lab Manager, Technical Manager,and Lead Technicians, learning the equipment, standards, and procedures step bystep.

KeyResponsibilities & Outcomes

• Inspectand diagnose. Visually inspect rubber PPE to identify damage and determinewhat service each item needs.
• Clean tostandard. Clean PPE by hand or machine according to ASTM standards andmanufacturer specifications.
• Test andcertify. Perform high-voltage dielectric testing, make pass/fail decisions,and certify equipment that meets ASTM performance standards.
• Documentaccurately. Record test data, stamp test dates on passed equipment, and complete all service documentation on time.
• Manageyour workload. Review daily assignments, set priorities, and keep workmoving with limited supervision once trained.
