JM Test Systems, LLC. is hiring an ESL Technician for our Rubber Lab to inspect, clean, and dielectrically test high-voltage rubber PPE, ensuring compliance with ASTM standards. You will document results, make pass/fail decisions, and certify equipment, with comprehensive in-house training provided.

Ideal candidates are quick learners with strong attention to detail, able to stand at a bench, and willing to grow in a safety‑minded laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rubber PPE for damage and determine required service.

• Review daily assignments, set priorities, and work with limited supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab area and assist with material handling.

Job Summary — The Opportunity

People who work around high voltage count on their rubber insulating protective equipment to keep them safe. As an ESL Technician in our Rubber Lab, you'll help make sure every piece of PPE we return to a customer is clean, tested, and ready to protect the person wearing it.

In this role, you will inspect, clean, and dielectrically test high-voltage rubber PPE, determine whether each item passes ASTM standards, and document and certify the results. No prior experience is required. You'll train in-house alongside our Lab Manager, Technical Manager, and Lead Technicians, learning the equipment, standards, and procedures step by step.

You'll thrive here if you're a quick learner, pay close attention to detail, and take pride in work that directly supports worker safety.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

• Inspect and diagnose. Visually inspect rubber PPE to identify damage and determine what service each item needs.
• Clean to standard. Clean PPE by hand or machine according to ASTM standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Test and certify. Perform high-voltage dielectric testing, make pass/fail decisions, and certify equipment that meets ASTM performance standards.
• Document accurately. Record test data, stamp test dates on passed equipment, and complete all service documentation on time.
• Manage your workload. Review daily assignments, set priorities, and keep work moving with limited supervision once trained.
• Keep the lab running smoothly. Maintain a clean, organized work area, prepare staging areas, order supplies, and transport equipment safely.
• Grow and contribute. Build your skills through ongoing training, support your teammates, and help train newer technicians as you gain experience.

What You Bring

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Required: No prior experience needed. We'll train you. You should be a quick learner who's comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• Required: Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to read and follow testing procedures.
• Required: Basic computer skills.
• Required: Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Required: Ability to stand at a workbench for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
