Qualifications

• Education Level: Hold a Bachelor's degree.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL at the appropriate grade level.
• Complete state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Must meet the Standards of Effective Teaching.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.
• Able to model excellent spoken and written English for English learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide ESL instruction to Multilingual Learners identified as English Learners.
• Collaborate with students' content teachers to align instruction across domains.
• Collaborate with instructional leaders to ensure language support and academic assistance.
• Assist with ACCESS administration.
• Prepare for and organize ELL student transition meetings.
• Plan lessons aligned to WIDA standards for varying English proficiency levels.
• Demonstrate culturally proficient instructional practices in the classroom.
• Integrate technology as a classroom instructional tool.
• Assist with administration of mandated state and local assessments for ELLs.
• Attend district/state professional development opportunities to stay current.
