Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional English as a Second Language and Special Education teacher to join our community of educators. This role focuses on multilingual learners and students with moderate disabilities, aligning instruction with district standards and ELL/IEP goals.

Reporting to CO-LEAD TEACHERS, you will collaborate with content teachers, instructional coaches and administrators to support language development, assessment administration, and transition planning for students

Responsibilities

• Teach: English as a Second Language to Multilingual Learners.
• Collaborate with the students’ content teachers to align instruction across domains and support language development.
• Collaborate with the school’s instructional leadership team, coaches, and administration to ensure language support and academic assistance.
• Assist with the oversight and delivery of ACCESS administration.
• Prepare for and assist with ELL student transition meetings.
• Plan and deliver lessons aligned to WIDA Instructional Standards and Can Do Descriptors.
• Demonstrate cultural proficiency and inclusive instructional practices.
• Integrate technology into the classroom as an instructional tool and for productivity.
• Demonstrate understanding of and fluency using WIDA ELD Standards Framework and Can Do Descriptors.
• Assist classroom teachers in administering all mandated state and local assessments for English language learners.
• Attend district and state-sponsored professional development opportunities to stay current with ELL instruction.
