Job summary

Alief Independent School District’s Martinez Early Learning Center seeks a 2026-2027 ESL Instructional & Compliance Paraprofessional to support Emergent Bilingual students and assist teachers in the classroom.

The role focuses on maintaining student records, data entry, LPAC activities, and daily supervision. Open to candidates meeting paraprofessional certification requirements; 187 workdays, ISP2 pay scale.

Qualifications

Must be able to assist in instructing, supporting and monitoring reading, writing and mathematics for Emergent Bilingual students and newcomers.
Strong interest and proficiency in reading and math; demonstrates a desire to contribute to student learning.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers and staff.
Education credentials meet state paraprofessional certification requirements.

Responsibilities

Support program goals to improve student achievement by assisting at‑risk students and staff.
Assist teachers in classroom instruction and in preparing instructional materials.
Maintain organized files related to testing, placement and monitoring of Emergent Bilingual students.
Supervise students during the day and when transitioning between activities.
Follow district safety procedures and participate in staff development.
