Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking a Bilingual/ESL (LEP) Teacher Assistant to support teachers in implementing ESL programs. The position is a 188-day, non-exempt paraprofessional role with duties including instructional support, materials prep, and parent communication.

Qualified applicants will have 48 college hours or equivalent plus a district assessment and an Educational Aide Certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment.
• Educational Aide Certification.
• Ability to work with children and communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to TEA and the district's policies and procedures.
• Assist in carrying out the instructional program.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and equipment.
• Assist in proper classroom management and implement daily schedule.
• Assist in record keeping and clerical duties.
• Assist teachers in the computer lab.
• Assist in communicating with parents (may include translations).
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce skills and concepts.
• Assist with testing of students for program purposes.
