Job summary

Charter Schools USA is seeking an ESE Coordinator to lead SPED programs, supervise SPED teachers, and coordinate IEPs across CSUSA schools in North Carolina. The role emphasizes data-driven eligibility decisions, confidentiality, and strong collaboration with families and district staff.

The ideal candidate will have a BS/BA, a preferred Master’s in Education, and certification in Exceptional Education, with at least three years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Certification in one area of Exceptional Education.
• Minimum of three years' successful teaching experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with staff, students, and families.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and Student Information System (SIS).

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct and manage SPED Teachers and the school's SPED program.
• Compile and review evaluation data to determine eligibility of exceptional students.
• Ensure confidentiality of student data and compliance with policies.
• Provide consultant services to school staff on eligibility, placement and services.
• Educate parents about SPED options, rights, and district procedures.
• Serve as liaison among SPED, regular education, and families.
• Coordinate IEPs, ITPs, FSPs, and EPs in accordance with state standards.
• Assist with inclusive procedures and least restrictive environment practices.
• Provide problem-solving support and data-driven program improvements.
• Travel to CSUSA school sites as required and report FTE data.
