Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking candidates for the Electromagnetics group with an interest in Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). You will support the company-wide ESD control program, help ensure electrical systems meet performance, reliability, and compliance objectives across submarine platforms, and contribute to ESD requirements development and testing.

The role involves analyzing IC susceptibility, participating in ESD classification testing, and providing deck-plate support for ESD

Qualifications

BS degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or Physics.
0–5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
Preferred: ANSI/ESD S20.20, IEC 61000-4-2, MIL-STD-1686, MIL-HDBK-263 ESD experience.
Fundamental understanding of circuits, grounding, bonding, etc.
Experience with IC behavior, failure modes, circuit-level analysis, reliability and ESD models (HBM, CDM, MDM).

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing ESD requirements for company-wide program.
Support evaluations of equipment impacted by ESD events.
Contribute to root-cause analysis for ESD issues.
Participate in ESD classification testing.
Provide deck-plate support for ESD issues as they arise.
Perform circuit-level analysis of IC susceptibility.
