Job summary

Lake Michigan Credit Union is seeking an Escrow Insurance Specialist I to support escrow operations, process insurance tasks, and maintain loan records in a fully on-site environment in Grand Rapids, MI.

You will work with lenders and vendors, manage lender-placed insurance, run escrow reports, and ensure compliance with investor, federal, and state regulations while assisting members.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of similar or related experience.
• 3–5+ years in customer service or mortgage industry preferred.
• Strong data entry skills and accuracy in spreadsheets, databases, and internal systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience creating, editing, and organizing documents and spreadsheets (Word, Google Docs, Excel, Google Sheets).
• Ability to manage calendars, email, and correspondence effectively.
• Strong time and task management; able to prioritize multiple assignments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage insurance-related tasks and queues accurately.
• Communicate with vendors and agents to ensure escrow payments and update loan records.
• Oversee lender-placed insurance, analyze loans, approve billing, maintain systems, and process refunds.
• Collaborate across departments to resolve member inquiries and adapt to new workflows.
• Maintain accurate loan records and standardized processes to minimize discrepancies.
• Understand flood regulations and address related inquiries.
• Process reports from LMCU and vendors and update servicing systems.
• Adhere to laws and regulations including Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, OFAC.
