Job summary

East Side House in the Bronx is seeking an ERSEA Specialist to ensure eligible children and families can access and participate in Head Start services. You will manage the full ERSEA process—Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance—and provide staff support and training.

The role reports to the Deputy Director of Early Childhood Programs and requires an associate degree in a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in human services, social work, early childhood education, public administration, or a related field is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify eligibility documentation to ensure accurate eligibility determinations.
• Implement recruitment and outreach activities to enroll eligible children and families.
• Monitor enrollment levels, track vacancies, and support timely filling of slots.
• Monitor attendance data and address barriers to regular participation.
• Maintain ERSEA records and provide staff training on ERSEA processes.
• Collaborate with Education and Disabilities teams and community partners.
